Joint operation yields good results

Victoria Road in Woodstock was “painted” blue when Woodstock police, law enforcement officials, Salt River City Improvement District and security agencies did a joint operation last Thursday. During the operation, the officers raided tuck shops operating illegally, second-hand dealer shops and also focused on traffic violations. The operation yielded good results when officers issued over R26 500 worth of fines for the offences. The law enforcement unit specialising in informal trading confiscated a large quantity of Blue City-issued refuse bags and a hefty fine was issued to the seller. Motorists who parked illegally were also given fines amounting to about R14 400. Police said operations of this nature will be held regularly in the area.
