Hout Bay police are waiting for two bodies to be taken to the morgue following a fatal shooting incident at the station earlier today, Wednesday 7 November.

According to the station’s spokesperson, Warrant Officer Tanya Lesch, a 43-year-old police sergeant allegedly shot and killed his wife before turning the gun on himself at around 10:25.

Lesch could not elaborate on the motive or what transpired. “We would prefer to not elaborate on that at the moment,” Lesch said.

She said the scene has been cleared but the bodies are expected to be moved to the mortuary this afternoon.
