Just pay the fine

2018-05-01 06:00

Mr Martyn Taylor’s letter of 24 April refers (“Challenge Ou Kaapse stop”, People’s Post).

The heavy vehicle braking lane was specially constructed some time ago and clearly signposted with appropriate signage that the lane was for heavy vehicles in which to (test) brake and stop. After the stop that lane incorporates the old lane and becomes the left turning lane for traffic.

Motorists wanting to jump the traffic queues, like him, disregard the stop sign and cut in front of vehicles legitimately moving left into the turning lane hence the camera.

Stop pleading innocence Mr Taylor. Pay the fine and be thankful you didn’t cause an accident.

D. Gunning Meadowridge
