Children from Lakeview and surrounding areas were profiled recently by the Pink Ladies so that their details are kept safe in case they go missing.

The event was organised by the Lakeview Neighbourhood Watch in conjunction with missing children’s organisation. Those who went for profiling had their fingerprints taken and took home a registration card with information and a recent picture of them to be used in case it is needed.

The watch’s Lydia Noah says it is important to have your child’s details at hand.

“This was for children of all ages. It helps a lot when a child goes missing. With the information captured you can find the child even faster. We all know that the festive season is very busy and children can easily get out of sight, so we thought it was very important to have this drive and keep our children safe,” says Noah.

She says the drive was also used to share information on what to do if a child goes missing.

“ There is no waiting period for reporting missing children. The sooner a child is looked for the greater the chances of finding him. We are glad that people came in their numbers and we will be keeping our children safe this festive season,” she says.
