The 13th Keith Grainger Memorial Squash Tournament kicked off on Sunday with seven school age group sections starting proceedings at the University of Cape Town squash courts.

The tournament also caters for men and women master’s players (over the age of 35) with six age group draws, which will also be starting this week.

Sixteen of the best South African qualifying players went head to head to see who would join the PSA men’s players in the qualifying draw. In the PSA women’s qualifying draw, all 16 spots have been taken by South African local players and it will be interesting to see how recently retired PSA player and former three-time tournament champion Siyoli Waters, who returns to squash after recently giving birth to her first child, goes in the qualifiers.
