The owner of Khan’s Islmac clothing store in Rylands Estate has been found after nearly two months.

According to Athlone police the man, who has been missing since being allegedly kidnapped in October, was found alive on Wednesday night in Thornton.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Zita Norman says the man was dropped off and then assisted by Thornton residents, who took him to Pinelands Police Station.

She says the man was then taken to Athlone Police Station, where he was interviewed. The man is reportedly traumatised and has received medical treatment and is now on medication.

Athlone's station commander, Colonel  Mark Adonis, says police will continue clamping down on crime and the perpetrators thereof.

“Police will maintain their zero tolerance approach in the combating and investigation of crime. Strengthening the partnership between the community and the police is high on the agenda as it is contributing to reducing crime and the apprehension of perpetrators thereof.”

Police are also appealing to residents to get involved in the reward system.
