A 15-year-old boy was shot dead at Shepherd Court in Lavender Hill last week.
The shooting took place on Monday last week at about 19:30.
Steenberg police spokesperson Warrant Officer John Bartlett says: “Police officers received a complaint of a shooting incident at Shepherd Court.
“When they got to the scene they noticed a group of people surrounding a body that was lying on the ground covered with a pink blanket.”
The victim, identified as Wade Adams, had sustained a gunshot wound to his head and died on the scene, Bartlett confirms.
“It is alleged that he had been standing in the courtyard at Shepherd Court when shots were fired at him.
“It is further alleged that he is affiliated to the Fast Guns gang. The unknown shooters, allegedly members of the Mongrels gang, are still at large,” Bartlett explains.
Another man was shot and killed in Lavender Hill the next day.
The shooting happened in Depsiton Crescent on Tuesday at about 15:30.
Bartlett says when officers arrived at the scene they found a 32-year-old dead at the entrance to Muir and De Korte courts.
“Shahied Ragani of St Thomas Street was lying in a pool of blood in the road. He had sustained one gunshot wound to his neck and was declared dead by paramedics.
“It is alleged that he was walking in the road when he was approached by two shooters who fired at him.
“A witness said she had informed them that he did not belong to a gang, but they fired another shot and fled the scene.
“Two cartridges were found at the scene.”
The shooters are still at large.
The motive for the killing is unknown at this stage, Bartlett says.
