Lippert child murder case to resume

Shamiel Slamang and Waylon Botha will both return to the Athlone Magistrate’s Court on Thursday 12 May, to start bail proceedings in connection with the murder of six-year-old Sadiqah Lippert.

Lippert was shot in the stomach at her grandmother’s 19th Avenue home in Hazendal on Monday 2 May. She died after being admitted to Groote Schuur hospital.

Western Cape police spokesperson Constable Noloyiso Rwexana confirmed that Slamang (27) and Botha (23) were charged with murder and appeared in court on Thursday 5 May. Police confirmed the case has been remanded for a bail application, with both currently held in Pollsmoor Prison.
