Athletes from Plantation Primary School in Grassy Park walked off in first place, taking home the Athletics Championship 2018 trophy for subzone 3A last week. Mervyn Amos, the school’s physical education teacher and coach, says this comes after a challenging competition that saw his learners competing against eight schools over a period of three days.

“The Plantation Primary staff and I are extremely happy for them, because their hard work paid off. Our athletes had to be at school as early as 07:00 in the morning to practice because we didn’t have a lot of time. Four of our athletes – Imaad Hoosain (u.11 boy), Mia Ely (u.10 girl), Zoe Hendricks, (u.12 girl), and Amiston Cupido (u.12 boy) – were outstanding on the day. Our teachers would like thank all our athletes for this

Other schools making it to the top were De Duine Primary in second place and Buck Road Primary in third place.
