An Ocean View resident who recently launched his book is “over the moon” following its overwhelming success.

Earl Mentor launched his book titled Cape Flats Karma – Biography of a Coloured Seed (BOCS) at Chrysalis Academy in Tokai on Tuesday 4 December.

Mentor, a poet and certified life coach, says he is using his own experiences to help his community put their best foot forward and know that their challenges are not permanent.

The launch was attended by over 80 people and Mentor says it exceeded his expectations. “We are over the moon. People came out in numbers and all the books that were there were sold out. We are in the process of delivering another 35 copies that were pre-ordered.

“I’m glad that the story in the book resonates with them. Some people can see themselves as they read the book,” he says.

Mentor says due to the good response and many people calling for another big launch in a different area, 2019 looks bright.

“I’m truly blessed and humbled by the response. Now we are planning our big launch at Baxter Theatre in the new year. We will have more copies and people want to hear more. This is not just a book launch, but a seminar where I talk to people about what I have seen in my journey as a life coach. We are really looking to the next year and planning bigger things,” he says.
