A 40-year-old man from Hout Bay, who handed himself over to the police after he allegedly killed a 50-year-old man, appeared in Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on a charge of murder yesterday, (Monday 25).

He also handed in the murder weapon to the Hout Bay Police Station.

The suspect allegedly stabbed the deceased during a confrontation at the corner of Mandela Road and Main Road on Friday 22 March at 07:45.

“The deceased blocked the vehicle of the suspect, both men got out of their vehicles and a confrontation ensued,” says spokesperson for Hout Bay police, Warrant Officer Tanya Lesch.

In a statement, Lesch says the victim was taken to the Hout Bay Fire Station and later died from injuries sustained to his neck, arm and upper body.
