The Kirstenbosch craft and food market at the Stone Cottages in Rhodes Drive is an institution of every last Sunday of the month. This weekend it hosted an event to introduce the public to a few of the new food vendors.

. The Hungry Bear has a selection of slow-cooked (for 18 hours) smoked beef dishes.

. Jacqueline’s Falafel caters for vegetarians and vegans with a selection of falafels with salads, hummus, sauces, pickles and spicy tahini date balls.

. Maggino Bros sells a range of artisanal pizzas using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

. If you like a taste of Durban spicyness then the Masala Cafe caters to your needs with its popular snacks like samoosas and daltjies.

. Nachos with a difference are served at the Mexican Nacho. It also offers a variety of tangy toppings.

. Might Schwarma specialises in lamb and steak schwarmas and also offers free-range chicken schwarmas.

. The Wicked Waffle serves genuine Belgian-style waffles with a variety of fruits, cream and syrup.

. Zari sparkling grape juices are now also on sale at the market.

The market also features crafts and art.
