Pianist Sibusiso “Mash” Mashiloane will head to the Cape for a three-day tour. iSupport Music Business in partnership with Concerts SA presents a tour of the Durban-based pianist and composer.

Mashiloane and his band will be in Cape Town for various concerts from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 November as part of his Closer to Home tour named after his third album.

Born in the Mpumalanga province, surrounded by Ndebele, Pedi and Swazi people, and later moving to KwaZulu-Natal, he observed that each society breathes its own character. “If that character is not embraced, the significance of being part of it is lost,” says Mashiloane.

During his planned launch tour, he will present Closer to Home live for audiences in Cape Town and Johannesburg. An impressive list of established artists contributed to the album, featuring established names such as Kunle Ayo on guitar, Tlale Makhene on percussion, Paki Peloeole on drums and Qhubekani Mthetwa on bass guitar.

Mashiloane will perform at the Muizenberg Jazz Festival at the Masque Theatre on Friday 16 November at 20:00.

Tickets for his show cost R130.

To have access to all five shows on the day, passes cost R600, or R1000 for the weekend. Tickets are available through Computicket. He will also be part of the Muizenberg Jazz Festival Workshop, facilitated by the South African Association for Jazz Education (SAJE), on Saturday 17 November from 11:00 to 12:00. Entry is free. He will then also perform at Alma Café in Rosebank on Saturday 17 November at 19:00. Tickets cost R100 via 021 685 7377.

His last performance in Cape Town will be at Jazz in the Native Yards in Gugulethu on Sunday 18 November at 15:00. Tickets cost R100. For bookings, contact 060 960 8935 or koko@mweb.co.za.
