Athlone police are on the lookout for suspects in two different armed robberies.

A 44-year-old man who works as a delivery driver was offloading a consignment of meat to a butchery in Klipfontein Road in Rylands last Saturday when he was confronted by two unknown men.

They threatened him with firearms and took cash of R31 000.

Athlone police spokesperson Sergeant Zita Norman says a 66-year-old man and two of his family members were at their home in Seventh Avenue in Belgravia Estate selling herbs last Sunday when two unknown men and one unknown woman approached them.

“The three robbers threatened them with firearms and robbed them of cash and two cellphones to the value of R3000.

“No shots were fired and no injuries sustained. They fled in a white Volkswagen Polo,” says Norman.
