Memorial service for legion of honour recipient

A Fish Hoek resident who was honoured by the Consul General of France, Laurent Amar, with the Legion of Honour medal (“Legion of Honour”, People’s Post, 18 September) for his part in the Battle of Normandy during World War II has died. Ian Kirkpatrick (93) died peacefully at his home last Thursday. The memorial service will be held at the MOTH hall, Fish Hoek on Friday 9 November at 14:00.
