The South Africa Social Security Agency (Sassa) along with South African Post Office staff will be running two more migration drives in ward 75.

This follows the first one held at the Colorado Park Community Hall last Friday.

The initiative was arranged by ward 75 councillor Joan Woodman.

“This is a ward 75 initiative but it is open to all,” says Woodman.

“We wanted to make the services more convenient to the residents. I have secured three halls in the ward for three consecutive Fridays. By bringing the service to the residents, we make it more accessible.”

The initiative assists in the migration of the old Sassa cards to the new Post Bank cards.

On Friday, seven SA Post Office staff assisted with the migrations, while Sassa staff assisted first-time applicants and were on hand to deal with any queries.

The next initiative will take place at the Woodlands Community Hall on Friday 22 June from 08:00 to 16:00.

Thereafter, the initiative will be taken to the Northwood Community Hall in New Woodlands on Friday 29 June from 08:00 to 16:00.

Residents are advised to take along their old Sassa card and their ID document.

Should your grant be paid into your own banking account, the migration is not necessary. Those with green Easy Pay cards are advised to visit a Sassa office, as the officials are not able to assist in this regard as the initiative is for first-time and old Sassa cardholders only needing to migrate.
