2016-12-13 06:01

A 46-year-old man was arrested after police found drugs on him in Parkwood last week.

Grassy Park police spokesperson Wynita Kleinsmith says the arrest was made last Tuesday afternoon.

“[The] sector team was tasked to search for a missing girl. Information was received that this person could be found at an address in Parkers Walk, Parkwood. On arrival officers found a 46-year-old man packing unga into smaller plastic bags. Officers then searched the premises and discovered 761 unga units, one unit tik, six whole mandrax tablets, seven halves and two crushed mandrax tablets,” Kleinsmith says.

The drugs have an estimated street value of R15 000.

The missing girl was not found at the address given by the public and Kleinsmith could not confirm at the time of going to print if the girl had been found.

The man has appeared in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court.
