Morgenster Rd a theft hotspot

2017-10-10 06:01

Police have sent an alert to residents who park on Morgenster Road.

Mitchell’s Plain police say they have noted an increase in the number of cases of car theft and theft out of cars reported along the Morgenster Road corridor.

“Many people who park here often participate in morning walks, runs, sports and wedding ceremonies. This results in cars often being left unattended for long periods. We therefore caution the public and organisers to be on the alert for possible car thieves,” says Mitchell’s Plain police spokesperson Captain Ian Williams.

“We also want to encourage people to ensure that their cars are properly locked, windows are closed, doors are locked and alarms are activated where possible.”
