Police arrested more than 20 wanted suspects during a tracing operation held on Thursday 15 November, starting at 04:00.

Philippi Police Station officers, under the command of acting station commander, Lieutenant-Colonel Dawood Laing, embarked on a tracing operation of wanted suspects for various crimes.

A total of 22 wanted men and women between the ages of 18 and 31 were arrested on charges including murder, attempted murder, armed robbery, robbery, theft, malicious damage to property, and assault.

All suspects reside in the Hanover Park area.

Some of the suspects were wanted on more than one case, resulting in 33 cases being addressed.

The suspects were all due to appear in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court.
