The New Horizon Community Squad competed in its first official Marching Competition in Voorbrug, Delft, on Saturday 27 July.

The competition was organised by the Delft Law Enforcement School Resource Office Unit and the Western Province Marching Association.

The squad, established in August last year by Civic chairperson Laylah Ryklief, competed in section B and obtained second place in all four categories.

The competition categories included best drum major, best dressed, grand march, as well as exhibition

The marching band was adopted by the neighbourhood watch as a safety project.
