New water, electricity rates a shock

2018-05-01 06:00

I was shocked to hear about the massive increase in electricity and water.

What’s the point of saving water and electricity when you are being punished for doing so?!

So whether you save or not, you pay through your neck for it.

And what does the value of your property have to do with the amount of water or electricity that you use? Why can’t you just pay for the amount that you use?

In other words if you live in a shack you don’t have to worry about the amount of water that you use. You can use as much as you want, even if there is a water crisis.

The City shouldn’t ask people to save water and then punish them for doing so. We are already paying through our necks for everything from petrol to levy on petrol, road accident fund, tax, increased VAT, high data costs, you name it, we pay it!

It’s time the politicians start working for the people, and not the other way around. After all it’s the voters that put them where they are today, and the taxpayers’ money that keep them “going”.
