Kenwyn Neighbourhood Watch (KNHW) held a successful annual general meeting at the Oaklands High School hall on Wednesday night. The gathering was attended by more than 40 people, including ward 60 councillor Mark Kleinschmidt who thanked patrollers, executive members and residents for the excellent work done in the community. Kleinschmidt also outlined the integral role played by the Kenwyn Neighbourhood Watch in supporting police in the fight against crime.The presiding officer for the gathering was the Lansdowne Community Policing Forum chairperson, Rafique Foflonker, who gave excellent insight into the role played by neighbourhood watches in the ward. In the annual chairperson’s report, Abdullah Fakir also gave a comprehensive account of the achievements of the KNHW, and encouraged greater community involvement.Locals were urged to join the group with the aim of growing the neighbourhood watch patrol in the area.
