NHW to host kids’ party

2018-03-13 06:01

The New Horizons Neighbourhood Watch (NHW), in conjunction with Grassy Park police, will host their much-anticipated kiddies event tomorrow. The Early Childhood Development (ECD) programme, which was originally set to take place on Valentine’s Day, 14 February, but which was postponed, will take place at the Pelican Park Community Hall from 13:00 to 15:00.

The group’s programme has been revamped with more of an educational approach in view in the attendance of 250 children from ECD centres across New Horizons.

“Grassy Park police’s Warrant Officer Wynita Kleinsmith will be assisting us by getting social development to give a talk on how to register one’s ECD centre and the safety measures that go along with it. Police will also present the children with safety and protection talks,” says Saadiqah Ganief, a representative from New Horizons NHW.

“We will also be having representatives of the Mitchell’s Plain cluster in attendance. In conjunction with the police, Randall Benjamin the principal facility officer, social services for recreation and parks, has also joined our initiative by combining his Cuddles programme. Our aim is to give each child a goodie plate, party packet and a gift, along with fun and games.”V For more information, call Saadiqa Ganief on 073 674 2506.
