No injuries were reported when a fire broke out at block of flats in Holmfirth Road in Sea Point at midday.

The City of Cape Town’s Fire and Rescue Services’ Theo Layne said the fire started on the third floor just after midday.

“The cause of the fire must still be ascertained. Two fire engines, one aerial appliance and one rescue vehicle were dispatched with 26 firefighters,” he said.

Layne said the floors above the third storey suffered smoke damage.
