Grassy Park police are urging local residents to stay clear of taking the law into their own hands.

According to a statement by Constable Cel Strauss, committing a crime may lead to your arrest and subsequently being brought before a court of law.

On Thursday at about 14:20 a shooting took place at Erick Viljoen Walk in Parkwood, leaving a 20-year-old man fatally wounded after he was shot in his right leg.

The circumstances of the shooting are being investigated.

It is confirmed that a 26-year-old man was arrested and is facing charges of attempted murder. The suspect appeared in the Wynberg Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Another person will soon be arrested for the same incident, says Strauss.
