Open day to empower unemployed youth

2018-10-23 06:02

If you are an unemployed youth, looking to uplift yourself through various skills programmes, then Hanover Park Library is the place to be on the morning of Thursday 8 November.

Local non-profit organisation YoungPeople@Work, in partnership with the Manenberg People Centre, will host an open day to empower unemployed youth to access decent employment or further training opportunities.

The programme will take place from 09:00 to 14:00, where unemployed youth will be given the opportunity to learn more about professional job-seeking skills, CV writing, interview skills and what companies are looking for. The organisation will also help to update participants’ CVs for free.

Frank Julie, the founder and director of the youth empowerment group, will facilitate the open day. He says interested participants will meet job placement and referral partners assisting unemployed youth. Certificates will also be issued on the day, he adds.
