Applications for a training initiative aimed at empowering unemployed youth are open for 2020 applications.

The Communiversity of South Africa will once again run its successful college and job preparation course in Strandfontein.

The four-month long programme will run at the YMCA Camp Site in Camp Road and registration is currently open until Wednesday 15 January.

A total of 33 students completed the programme last year and celebrated at a graduation on Friday 6 December.

The curriculum includes first aid training, IEB accreditation English and Maths, entrepreneurship, culinary and hospitality courses.

The opportunity is presented to all unemployed youth, aged 18 to 35 to tap into the holistic programme which prepares young people for college and work life.

Everyone who joins the programme is awarded a R12 000 full bursary.

and 85 to 90% of graduates go on to college since TVET colleges offer priority entrance to Communiversity students with full scholarships.

Registration takes place at the YMCA in Camp Road.

Interested applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35 and have Grade 9 or higher. Take along a copy of your ID, last school report and proof of address.
