This month’s #We(heart)Post campaign is indeed a very special one, as we at People’s Post gear up for 21 March or Human Rights Day.

We will be celebrating human rights the entire month long, as we have a very special purpose: to help restore some dignity and warmth in the lives of homeless people.

The team members of People’s Post and our sister publications, TygerBurger and City Vision, have already started cleaning out our closets in aid of those less fortunate. We now await the generosity of our readers.

Bring along those socks, beanies, scarves, umbrellas, coats, jerseys and blankets that are gathering dust at the top of your closets. Remember, if it hasn’t fit you in two years, it may not fit ever again ... but it can keep someone else dry and happy.

Also remember to nominate your shelter or organisation of choice to receive our donation by emailing post@peoplespost.co.za. We hope to donate to at least two organisations.

Please give as you would want to receive. So, donate all your pre-loved clothing items that are clean, untorn, whole and still in good condition (no missing buttons or zips or holes please).

We will collect the clothing if we’re in your area, or look out for all our collection options. You can also bring your contribution to Vangate Mall’s Local is Lekker top 20 performance on Saturday (read more on page 4), where our boxes of kindness will be waiting to be filled with your bag of pre-loved clothing.

Remember: Don’t just nominate, but pak jou kas uit!

Collection points are: Our offices in Edward Street, Bellville; Vangate Mall in Athlone and through our area-based reporters who will collect when they are in the area if provided with your address.
