Pensioner hit by car

A man was knocked over by a car on the a highway near Kenilworth on Saturday.

According to ER24 spokesperson Pieter Rossouw, the man, approximately 70 years of age, was walking his dog when he was hit by the car.

“When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found the man lying in the middle of the road bleeding profusely. He had sustained massive injuries, including fractures and lacerations. The man’s dog, a rottweiler, was sadly killed in the collision,” Rossouw confirmed.

ER24 treated and transported the man to Groote Schuur Hospital for urgent treatment. No injuries were sustained by the driver car. The cause of the incident unknown.
