The Mitchell’s Plain Tactical Response Team (TRT) have confiscated a large quantity of mandrax as they continue with their plans to clamp down on the drug trade.

According to a police report, officers embarked on high density patrols on Wednesday (18 January) and arrested three Lentegeur men.

Police spokesperson, Captain Lance Goliath, says officers raided a “well-known” drug outlet in Kreupelhout Street at 20:40 and seized a large quantity of mandrax with an estimated street value of R475 000.

The men aged 36, 42 and 43 were arrested for possession of drugs and will appear in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s Court.

Police are also appealing to residents to come forward and get involved in the reward system.

"Crime and criminals can be reported and a reward could be received by the reporter. Anyone with information on crime can call Crime Stop on 08600 10111. All information will be treated as highly confidential.”
