Police arrested a 36-year-old Tafelsig man on Thursday 3 August for possession of drugs.

Officers of the Mitchell’s Plain crime prevention unit were busy with crime prevention duties in Baviaanskloof Street, ­Tafelsig at 18:30 and while searching a house they saw a suspect throw a bag through the window.

When they retrieved the bag they found 17 parcels of dagga and some loose dagga in the bag.

The man was arrested and has since appeared in court on a drug-related charge.

In an unrelated matter, Mitchell’s Plain police officers were busy with crime prevention duties in Olive Street, Eastridge on Wednesday 2 August at 11:00 when they stopped and searched a suspicious-looking man.

They found a zip gun and one round of live ammunition in his possession.

The 18-year-old man was arrested for possession of ammunition without a licence and for a firearm capable of discharging that ­ammunition.
