On Sunday 27 August, police arrested three suspects for illegal possession of a firearm and ammunitions in Beacon Valley, Mitchell’s Plain.

Western Cape police spokesperson, Captain FC van Wyk says the firearm containing four rounds was found under a bed in the Wendy house.

"The suspects face charges of possession of a firearm without a license and illegal possession of ammunition."

"On the same day, police arrested a man in Pisa Close, Portlands, Mitchell’s Plain for illegal possession of ammunition. The man was running while carrying a bag with a green box inside containing 30 hollow point rounds, five 9mm short and five 9mm live rounds of ammunition," says Van Wyk.
