Drugs with an estimated street value of R10 000 were confiscated in Lansdowne on Tuesday last week.

At around 17:20 the Lansdowne crime prevention team executed a search warrant in Sunnyside Road, Crawford.

Lansdowne police spokesperson Sergeant Nkululeko Mnyaka says four men were arrested after the find.

“Four men aged between 24 and 39 years old were arrested for possession of drugs,,” Mnyaka says.

Mnyaka says the drugs that were found was “hidden outside on the roof”.

“Drugs were found hidden outside in a plastic bag with an estimated street value of R10 820,” he says.

Mnyaka says drugs found include 93 bankies of Dagga selling at R50 each, 28 plastic bank bags with pollen selling at R50 each, 26 ecstasy tablets at R80 each and 46 bankies of Mushroom at R50 each.

“All suspects will face charges of possession of drugs and will appear at Wynberg Court after investigation completed. Confiscated drugs were booked in to the police property register for evidence presented in court of Law,” Mnyaka explains.

Lansdowne station commander Colonel Herman Seals is appealing to all residents to be eyes and ears of the police, to participate in policing activities aiming to clamp down crime and criminal activities in their respective areas.
