Grassy Park police confiscated a large amount of drugs to the value of R300 000 while busy with crime prevention duties in the Grassy Park area on Tuesday afternoon. Warrant Officer Wynita Kleinsmith says police observed a suspicious driver in a silver Mazda 3, driving in front of the police at about 15:30 on the day.

“The driver acted suspiciously by checking his mirrors and swerving from lane to lane, which made the members force him to stop on the corner of Prince George Drive and 5th Avenue in Grassy Park. On searching the vehicle, members found a white plastic bag, containing two large ziplock bags with a large amount of tik, and a yellow bag containing cocaine in the vehicle, with an estimated value of R300 000,” she says.

The suspects were granted bail in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
