Police search for two thieves

2017-07-18 06:02

Fifteen people were arrested for various offences – ranging from house robbery, theft and assault to theft out of cars and possession of dangerous weapons – in the Diep River policing precinct in the first week of July.

Diep River police are asking for help after a man was robbed of R2000 cash after withdrawing the money in Victoria Road, Plumstead on Sunday 2 July.

Diep River police spokesperson Sergeant Amanda Gordon says the man was walking along Main Road when two unknown men approached him.

“The men, one of whom is about 1.75m in height, the other about 1.65m, of medium build and clean shaven, approached the man, and demanded his cellphone. One of the robbers pulled out a firearm and threatened him. He handed over his cellphone. One of the robbers searched his pockets and took R2000 cash.”
