Cape Town Central Police Station are asking residents to help identify a body found on Table Mountain in March.

Police spokesperson Captain FC Van Wyk says a decomposed body of an unknown man, believed to be between 17 and 20, was found on Table Mountain on Sunday 17 March and taken to the Salt River mortuary.

An inquest was registered at Cape Town Central Police Station for investigation.

At the time of discovery, the body was found in blue denim shorts, with a black belt, a black golf T-shirt and orange and green takkies.

“No identification was done, and the skull was sent for reconstruction. A computerised three-dimensional facial reconstruction was done, and it was discovered that the deceased is a male age between 17 and 20,” states Van Wyk.

Anyone with any information can call Detective Sergeant Jean Pierre Toua on 061 44 10530 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
