Police are calling on the help of the community in their search for two suspects after they murdered a man on Saturday 9 April.

Lansdowne police spokesperson Sergeant Nkululeko Mnyaka says the two suspects committed the murder at about 21:00.

“The 34-year-old victim was walking on Racecourse Road from Kenilworth Centre with his girlfriend when he was attacked and stabbed,” says Mnyaka.

The victim was declared dead on the scene after he was stabbed four times.

“The victim’s girlfriend says the suspects followed them and started to attack her boyfriend for no reason. They did not ask for anything. The suspects are unknown to the victim and his girlfriend,” he explains.

Mnyaka says the motive behind the killing is unknown. The suspects fled the scene on foot towards the M5 bridge. One was wearing a long sleeve top with red and white stripes. A case of murder has been opened.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Lansdowne detectives on 021 700 9000 or 082 576 2804.
