Police urging help after three murders

It has been a bloody week in the Mitchell’s Plain precinct and police are requesting assistance from residents in several murder cases.

. On Sunday 11 September at 22:15, police received a complaint of a shooting in Swemmer Street, Beacon Valley.

On arrival police found a man lying inside the house at the kitchen door.

The victim, a 27-year-old man, suffered a gunshot wound to his neck and was declared dead on the scene.

The motive is unknown.

No arrests have been made and a murder case is being investigated by police.

. Also on Sunday at 13:05 police attended to a complaint of a shooting in Lancaster Road, Rocklands.

The 24-year-old victim told his wife he was going to a local shop. While inside the house she heard gunshots.

The woman found her husband lying on his back with multiple gunshot wounds.

The motive is currently unknown and no arrests have been made.

. In Sunderland Street, Rocklands at 02:45 – also on Sunday – a victim had gone to his girlfriend’s house to fetch clothing.

He went into the house and left her waiting in the car. She went to look for him and saw the 32-year-old man lying in the road with multiple gun wounds to his back, arm and leg.

It was further reported that a red Toyota was driving past the victim when a man got out and chased the woman who managed to escape his attackers.

The motive is currently unknown. No arrests have been made.
