The Sea Point Post Office has been given a second chance at life, after an alternative venue has been found to house it.The post office will be moving to new premises at The Point Mall, confirms spokesperson Martie Gilchrist.People’s Post reported that the post office was set to close after over two decades of service (“Post office returns to sender”, 19 July). The post office closed its doors on Saturday 23 July, following a request that it move to accommodate renovations at the previous premises. After failing to find an alternative lease, it was decided the office would close “permanently”.The post office is expected to open for business, from the new premises, in October. Currently, registered mail, insured and ordinary parcels addressed for delivery to Sea Point postboxes are available at the Roggebaai mail collection point. Foreign parcels, CODs, ordinary parcels and Securemail addressed for delivery to Sea Point postboxes will be forwarded to the Waterfront Post Office.
