Learners at Cedar High School celebrated their school spirit with a showcase on Thursday.

The second annual Cedar High School Pride Festival was held at the school from 08:00 to 15:00,

The festival allowed locals and learners to put their talents on display.

The festival was hosted with the theme “Pride of Ubuntu” and made use of the school’s newly constructed open-air stage, says Fagan Muller, teacher and school liaison.

“The Cedar High School Pride Festival is a showcase to learners to develop the ‘school pride’ which every school rightfully deserves. This pride, in turn, will hopefully extend itself to parent patronage and help us alleviate the lack of school fee payments.

“More importantly it will aid us in contributing to the creative growth as one of four arts-focused schools in the Western Cape.

“This live-broadcasted event is only for the learners and involves a drone display by the learners.

“This festival show featured all the art forms and genres, international and local artists, food stalls and other creative activities,” says Muller.

The second instalment follows the viral sensation of the first instalment which featured multitalented Cedar High School learners in all art forms, joined by a special performance by YoungstaCPT.

This year’s line-up included the school band, Cedar Gwara Kings and Queens, Da Faith, T-Stone, Smasher and DJ CairoCPT.
