Pupils from Portland and Westridge High schools have been welcomed onto the Decision Affects Destinies (DAD) Youth Mentor Programme.

Ward councillor Eddie Andrews welcomed the pupils and briefly informed new ambassadors what the programme entailed, at an event Tuesday 22 March and Thursday 24 March.

He requested they make use of the opportunity and access the much needed resources available to increase their chances of achieving success.

He introduced the peer and assistant peer leaders who graduated as ambassadors to peer leaders or assistant peer leaders.

The pupils then visited the Cape Point Nature Reserve. The hike was led by the City’s Nature Conservation officer, Jerome September.

V Youth between the ages of 12 and 14 years interested in joining the programme may contact Andrews on 021 444 8699 or 082 377 1414 or Eddie.Andrews@capetown.gov.za.
