Hundreds of angry residents have gathered to march in honour of an 11-year-old Tafelsig girl who was found dead on Tuesday.

Stacha Arendse was reported missing on Monday evening (27 March) and her body was found along Swartklip Road in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Police have confirmed the girl was raped and murdered.

A 31-year-old man is being held in connection with the case.

Residents will hold a memorial service for her and other children who were murdered in recent weeks followed by a mass prayer.
