A crime operation held in the Diep River precinct resulted in three people being arrested.

The operation on Saturday was eight hours long and it consisted of six police officers, 20 Law Enforcement officers, 20 neighbourhood watch members and three security companies’ members.

Diep River police spokesperson, Sergeant Amanda Gordon, says during this operation cases of attempted murder and drunken driving were opened when they were conducting a routine vehicle check point) in Constantia Main Road.

Arrests were made for assault, drug possession and various other charges. “Twenty-two people were checked [on a system to verify if a person has a warrant of arrest on their name],” says Gordon.

“We would like to thank all role players for their dedication and contribution towards the fight against crime,” she says.
