A house in Sovereign road, Southfield, was robbed by four men who entered the house partially dresses as police on Thursday 22 September.

Diep River police spokesperson Warrant Officer Keith Chandler confirms the incident. “It is alleged that four men dressed in partial police clothing entered the house and tied up four foreigners with cable ties. They then proceeded to ransack the house, leaving all valuables and just removing cash and cellphones,” he says.

“They were also wearing blue latex gloves. The suspects spoke English and Afrikaans, two were armed with firearms. They wore takkies and not boots. One had a Captain rank insignia, two had no rank insignia. Two were coloured men and two were African men. One of the coloured males were bearded. No shots were fired, nobody was injured,” Chandler adds.

Police were on the scene, as well as their criminal investigation department. Black cable ties were used. No police vehicles were seen at the address. None of the suspects produced any police identification.
