Rounds of fun

2017-10-10 06:00

Members of the public are urged to support an annual 24-hour marathon being run by learners of Heathfield High School on Friday and Saturday afternoon.

The marathon will be in the form of a relay with the learners running a 1km distance at a time.

Interested community members of all ages can also participate in a 5km costume fun run on Saturday morning in support of the learners. The school is looking for marshals for the fun run.

The marathon is aimed at fostering a spirit of community involvement and empowerment and raising funds.

The proceeds from the annual event will be used to buy equipment for the school’s sports department. Supporters will enjoy the camp and refreshments will be allowed. Food stores will also be present.

There will also be entertainment, including a display of Harley Davidsons and classic cars.

The school will also use the opportunity to introduce people to its sports precinct development project and other upcoming fundraising events.
