Eight girls suffering from life-threatening illnesses were treated like royalty on Friday as part of Reach for a Dream’s Queen for a Day initiative.

The event, hosted at Homestead Villas in Bellville, was aimed at lifting the girls’ spirits and giving them a chance to socialise with others outside of the hospital environment.

They were each given massages, had their makeup done, decorated cupcakes and enjoyed a tea party.

Diane Nel, Miss Mtzanzi 2017, crowned the girls with a tiara and gave each a sash as they walked on a red carpet.
