One of Cape Town’s most loved running events is making its way back to the city this July.

The Cape Town Festival of Running is celebrating its 21st-year in existence and this year, over 2 000 runners are expected to take part.

The two-day festival will see four races including 100km, 50km, 55km relay and 21km half marathon run over two days on Saturday 20 July and on Sunday 21 July. The fun-filled event will take place at the Sea Point Promenade.

Entrants of the Saturday race will receive a special long sleeve T-shirt.

Race director Rashid Cloete from the Hewat Athletic Club said the 100 km race is unique because “it is the only one in the Western Cape”.

The festival was created to not only include senior runners but caters for the whole family as well.

“It is a fun and social event which the whole family can enjoy together,” Cloete said.

Entries to the event will close tomorrow, Wednesday 10 July.

Tickets start from R200 and are available on the festival’s website www.capetownfestivalofrunning.co.za.
