School sings in festive season

2017-11-28 06:00

Yellowwood Primary School held a carols by candlelight event at the school on Thursday.

With performances by a local band, the school choir and specially invited performers, residents were entertained as they ushered in the festive season.

The event was the first of its kind, says choir leader Brandon Charles.

“The children were very excited when we told them about the concert,” he says.

The choir performed Christmas classics such as “O holy night”, “Jingle bells” and “Away in a manger”.

The learners were accompanied by the Anzio community band and special performers Liezel Neethling, Nicole Kernelle and Jenna Segers.

School principal Donnovan Senosi says they would like to grow the school’s music programme but need help from businesses to make it sustainable.
