Residents in the Cape metropole can now attend the second of four summer markets in the Company’s Gardens until Monday 23 December. Markets were held in different areas including the Rooikrans Sport Complex in Grassy Park and Bellville civic centre.

The last one will be held from 27 to 29 March next year at Athlone Stadium.

“We will explore the expansion of our summer markets in the near future so as to provide even more opportunities to our traders,” says Grant Twigg, Mayco member for urban development.

The summer markets allow consumers and tourists an outdoor lifestyle and night shopping experience.

The customary festivities and events such as the Summer Star, Play Zone and Food Zone to name but a few, will return to the Company’s Garden Market with new additions such as the Relaxation Zone where market goers can flex their muscles in yoga classes and massages.

“Capetonians are familiar with the summer market in the Company’s Garden which was launched over two decades ago. This year, more opportunities will be given to small businesses and traders to supplement their income,” Twigg says.
