School secretaries enjoyed a day of glitz, glamour and dance in celebration of Secretary’s Day on Thursday 12 September. The Progressive Principals’ Association (PPA) hosted its annual Secretary’s Day filled with laughter and surprises. The secretaries had no idea what to expect and were pleasantly surprised with the activities on the day. The day started with a meet and greet at Beacon Hill High School in Mitchell’s Plain. Thereafter, they were treated to a lovely scenic drive through Stellenbosch with a stop at Oom Samie se Winkel, followed by a drive to the V&A Waterfront. Graeme Richards, presenter of the Expresso Morning Show and Lindsey Muckle, ballroom dancing champion, joined the secretaries on the bus. They were taken to the Nico Malan Hall in Observatory where they enjoyed a delicious lunch and did salsa and cha-cha lessons presented by Muckle. After that, they did a dance-off competition and the afternoon ended off with young live talent. The PPA expressed its gratitude to the sponsors, Beyond the Edge Tutoring, Nashua Tygerberg, Blue Print SA, Faseegah Stevens of Nedbank and EduBiz Media.
